Communications Director
As Communications Director, Renie Kennemer is responsible for internal and external messaging strategies and implementation. Responsibilities include employee communications, website development, social media and video tactics, event planning, and community outreach programs.
Renie became Communications Director in 2018 after serving as Marketing Coordinator for 7 years.
Prior to joining Thompson, Renie served as Agency Facilitator and PR Business Manager at a Mobile advertising agency. She also worked in television news as a news producer in Honolulu, Hawaii; Shreveport, Louisiana; Aruba; and Washington, D.C.
Renie earned her Master’s in Broadcast Journalism at the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mississippi University for Women.
Renie gives her volunteer time to the Junior League of Mobile where she has served on the Board of Directors and in various roles including Nominating Director and Communications Council Vice-President. She is a Past President of the Public Relations Council of Alabama, Mobile Chapter.
