Scott Hardy

Senior Vice President & Chief Engineer

Scott Hardy is a Senior Vice President and Chief Engineer with Thompson Engineering. In his current position, Hardy oversees the company’s Engineering Practice, which includes the structural, civil, municipal, and industrial teams. Hardy also serves as integration manager for new mergers and acquisitions.

 

Hardy’s resume includes nearly 30 years of airfield, roadway, site/civil design and management experience in Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Georgia. Hardy has supervised design and/or construction projects of various scales for the Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and South Carolina Departments of Transportation; Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport; Mobile Downtown Airport (Brookley Field); City of Mobile; Mobile County; Mobile County Public School System; Mobile Housing Board; City of Orange Beach; and the University of South Alabama, as well as numerous private clients throughout the southeast.

 

Hardy serves as the Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board for the College of Engineering at the University of South Alabama and he is a member of the Advisory Council for the Department of Civil, Coastal, and Environmental Engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); he has twice served as branch president and also served on the Alabama Section Board of ASCE. Professional honors include being named ASCE Outstanding Engineer and Young Engineer of the Year by the Mobile Area Council of Engineers (MACE). He has also served as a Board of Trustee member for Mobile Christian School since 2009, where he is Chairman of the Facilities Committee and a member of Finance Committee and the Advancement Committee.

 

Hardy received his BSCE from the University of South Alabama in 1996 and received his original Professional Engineering License in the state of Alabama in 2001.
