Camp Shelby Drainage Improvements

During periods of significant rainfall, several buildings located within the Cantonment area of Camp Shelby would flood. Thompson Engineering was tasked by the Mississippi Army National Guard with surveying the project area and preparing civil/site design drawings for construction to prevent future flooding.

The project extended from the 1600 block to the 2300 block at Camp Shelby and consisted of hydraulic analysis, design bidding, and subsequent construction of concrete-lined ditches, subsurface piping, and box culvert installations.

Thompson Engineering also provided periodic construction inspection services to ensure consistency with the plans and specifications and to verify the quality of construction. The project execution was facilitated between the Thompson Engineering staff and the Camp Shelby Joint Force Training Center (JFTC) personnel.
